Dr María Ángeles Bonmatí holds a degree in Biology and a PhD in Physiology from the University of Murcia (UM). Her research focuses on chronobiology and its effects on sleep. After receiving an award of excellence for her internationally acclaimed doctoral thesis, she has taken part in different research projects about sleep and currently works as a researcher in CIBERFES at the Carlos III Institute for Health. As well as giving classes at UM, she has also collaborated with international institutions such as the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the Queensland University of Technology. Throughout her career she has published a range of articles on chronobiology and sleep in major scientific journals, and has participated in dozens of national and international conferences. She has collaborated with various publications and delivered science communication events via a range of media, for some of which she has received prizes.
