José María Martínez Selva is a Professor of Psychobiology at the Universidad de Murcia, where he has taught Psychophysiology and Physiological Psychology since 1978. He has been a guest professor at universities in France, Mexico and Panama, and has been invited to residencies at the University of South California, Harvard Medical School and Strathclyde University in Glasgow in the UK. He has also been a member of the Nation Commission for Science and Technology.
